The Temple’s crew of carpenters is hard at work building out the many areas of trim in the Temple’s main shrine room, which include columns, beams, and soon the sideboards and door trim. The process involves both pre-manufactured parts, such as the bee’s nest used on the beams, or panels used on the columns, and the carpenters’ ingenuity in assembling all the pieces. Here, Takayuki Kida works with risers that lift a panel in the center of each column into place alongside the corner pieces.
